Vietnam Green Energy Expo 2026

Exhibition Scale & On-Site Overview

Vietnam Green Energy Expo 2026 closed its three-day run from July 15 to 17 at SECC Ho Chi Minh City, paired with Vietnam ETE power exhibition as Vietnam's largest integrated renewable energy fair. Covering 20,000 sq.m., the event gathered 650 exhibitors from 24 nations and drew over 18,000 professional visitors. Chinese PV and storage brands formed the biggest overseas delegation, including Jinko, Trina, Deye, Ginlong and CATL, displaying full-set solar plus storage packages.

This expo highlighted tropical-adapted hardware as the most sought-after category. Anti-salt mist bifacial N-type modules, anti-corrosion rooftop brackets and TCVN-certified hybrid inverters dominated booth displays, tailored to Vietnam's high humidity, coastal salinity and frequent typhoons.

Core Market Trend: C&I PV-Storage Becomes Non-Negotiable Demand

Commercial and industrial distributed rooftop solar stood as the market backbone, fueled by surging industrial electricity bills and global RE100 ESG requirements for foreign manufacturers. Liquid-cooled container BESS for factories and compact residential all-in-one storage drew heavy inquiries, as time-of-use price gaps enable peak shaving and reduce grid power curtailment during midday solar surpluses. LFP lithium batteries remain the mainstream technical route, with national storage capacity targets lifted to 10–16.3 GW by 2030.

Grid compliance and localized product design emerged as strict market entry thresholds. All equipment sold for Vietnamese projects must pass TCVN and CR certification for low-voltage grid compatibility. Generic standard products lost competitiveness, while customized high-temperature, corrosion-resistant solar hardware won consistent purchase intentions from installers.

Long-Term Industry Outlook & Supplier Strategic Shifts

Vietnam's solar trade model is shifting from single-component export to full-lifecycle energy service cooperation. Instead of merely selling modules and inverters, leading suppliers now offer integrated EPC packages including site survey, system design, installation and after-sales operation maintenance. Many Chinese brands launched local partner programs with domestic EPCs to build regional service networks and resolve warranty and repair pain points.

For global PV suppliers targeting Southeast Asia, the Ho Chi Minh expo delivered clear guidance: prioritize certified tropical customized PV-storage solutions, deepen local channel partnerships, and position all-in-one self-consumption systems to capture booming industrial renewable demand through 2028.
